So...Hi.

I'm Maya. Looks like I'm stuck here for awhile, and they told me I should introduce myself.

I'm deaf, by the way. So, you know, try to get my attention in ways other then just talking at me if you want me to actually interact with you.

I'm told I'm going to be in guest accommodation till we get the results of the gene test back, although I'm told the likelihood of me not being a mutant is pretty low.

No idea how long that takes so you should probably get used to me being around.

Hey Maya, I'm Nica - I used to be the newbie here, until you showed up. ;) The place is all right, but don't try and make jokes or get too excited about things - the adults here are either incredibly literal, or are too old to be surprised by things.

I would have said yes, there is, with the whole mutant thing, but apparently it's not cool to think powers and shit are awesome.

Pop music kinda bypassed me - even with the implants I can never really hear the words. But celebrity and all, what's not to get excited about?

And, um, no, she totally doesn't. She's pretty cool and down to earth and all that. She just doesn't like people spazzing about her being famous. It's embarrassing or something. You totally assume the worst first thing, don't you?
