We're finding out who might benefit from a stroke or a bullet in the back of the head and who might be swung. We're working on it. We're building influence and that. takes. time.
But we're not publicly out with our dicks out kicking people in the teeth, so you assume that we're not doing anything. You're not as ignorant as that.
3) I'd also like to point out that, on the scale of things, it's one house. It's not a slave ring. It's not government or corporate experimentation. It's not nuclear. It's not a foreign power kidnapping our people. It's not Apocalypse or Magneto or any of the other reasons why flatscans might actually have reasons to be afraid of us.
Consider this, Maya: yes, mutants are being attacked and mutant businesses are being torched and mutants are vulnerable etc etc etc but - you're too young to remember Budapest or the dinosaur incident or any of the things that have happened in India or Genosha or seen Apocolypse or walked through San Diego after mutants blew it up. Maybe, just maybe, anti mutant prejudice isn't as simple as it looks on the outside. And that they are right to be afraid of us.
And while you're working on it, people are using the Government's stance to make people's lives a living hell. It's not just about mutants, it's every minority in this country.
You think I only care about mutants? That's only one of my concerns right now.
If we don't stand publicly, if we don't all fight this tooth and nail right now, then we'll all die on our knees.
I don't dislike you, Artie. But your way is not my way and I can't sit back and pretend like I think working behind the scenes will ever be enough.
