Family is important, Elders are important and you do your elders proud by defending them.
While I'm not fond of the Government of this country and its treatment of my people. There are people in it trying to do better.
Long ago, for a moment in history, the Republican Party was progressive and cared for people and justice.
That isn't what it is now. I know that there are Republicans that cling to that history but they need to let it go and find another party. They're now out numbered by the bigots and the monsters and I'm sorry to say that I don't think that will ever change, it's too late.
It's certainly not the party they grew up with it's true. And nationally the party identity is moving inexorably. But a lot of them still are focused on the state level where you don't always see the same amounts of change.
That and people have an inertia, once they're locked in and identify with something it's hard to convince them to change their minds, trust me I've tried.
